Sally Mann is hands down one of my favorite photographers.
Her photos, taken with a large format camera, are amazing. She’s mostly recognized for her third series Immediate Family (1992); consisting of pictures of her three children at their summer home. many thought of this series as controversial, but I say don’t overanalyze the context and just appreciate the photographic creation. (Once I learned how to develop and work in a darkroom I really found a new appreciation for black and white photography, some pictures are so hard to develop right!)
I can’t wait to get my hands on a couple of her books, definitely on top of my list this holiday season!
